Themes of Frankenstein and The birthmark questions Assingment

Frankenstein themes:
Quote 7

I had admired the perfect forms of my cottagers — their grace, beauty, and delicate complexions; but how was I terrified when I viewed myself in a transparent pool! At first I started back, unable to believe that it was indeed I who was reflected in the mirror; and when I became fully convinced that I was in reality the monster that I am, I was filled with the bitterest sensations of despondence and mortification. Alas! I did not yet entirely know the fatal effects of this miserable deformity.

Themes

Beauty and Alienation.

Explanation

Based on the diction highlighted, we can deduce that the author is trying to convey the following themes:

Beauty: We can see this theme on the quote when he admires the beauty of the cottagers and how ugly he is compared with them.

Alienation: We can see this theme on the quote as he classify himself as a monster and others not. So he is different from the cottagers.

The Birthmark Questions/Answers:

6) Is the way a person looks connected to who she/he is?
- No, the way a person looks is not connected to who she/he, for example: a person can look very kind and be very polite with most of the people but in the night it may be a serial killer.

22)Did Aylmer love Georgiana as much as he loved science?
- No, Aylmer loved science much more than Georgiana as he risked her life and finally killed her because of science.

10)What does it mean to be "imperfect"?
- To be "imperfect" means that you have one or more problems, physical or psicological but we all have problems so we all are "imperfect" so nobody is really "perfect".

13)What is more important, perfection or life?
- Life is more important as perfection can't stay without life, as it happened in the story, Georgiana became "perfect" but because of that she died.

19)When does science go a step too far?
- Science go a step too far when it risks someone's life for a meaningless reason like removing a birthmark.

Monday 30th of April Class Summary

In monday 30th april class, we talk about literature and also it interpretation. In literature, we always use interpretation, for example: Wich elements describe the life of the author, wich are the good or evil characters, wich elements are from the time the book was written, wich character is powerfull than the others, etc. We specified the evil characters for then to do an activity of interpretating some images. Also about the topic of evil characters we talked about "Frankestein" and as in this book there are gothic elements, we specified them and continued viewing them in the next class.

Answer to Arthur Potts

                                                                                                                     Llanabba Castle School

Dear Arthur,

I am very happy to hear about you, it have been a long time. I would not accept the money from Digby-Vane-Trumpington even if I am in need of it because if i accept it, it would be a betrayal of everything I believe in. It's an injustice that I have been expelled from Oxford because of  Digby-Vane-Trumpington but I don't care too much now because I am having a great time here.

Hope you the best,
Paul

How do language reflects the ideas of a culture?

Culture and language are related. This is because language can be used
to reflect the culture of a given society.

People use the langague to express their's worldviews wich reflects
the ideas of a culture.

The children grow up knowing what is expected from the culture. In
addition, the children are exposed to the environment and this helps
them become part of the society. Researchers argue that the people the
child interacts with and the environment influence his thoughts and
language.

Different societies have different cultures. Some behaviors are acceptable
in one society as some are not in another society because of the different cultures.
For example: A children have a worldview that eating meat is good because of his
culture but one day, he meet a society of vegetarians who don't eat meat, just
vegetables and they don't accept his behaviors because of their worldviews given
by their's culture.
